Best to post that question at falconchristmas.com I have several old usb hubs and they have all worked for me, but there have been some instances of a few that gave some folks trouble. There is no one single answer to this question.

I use this one by plugable (http://www.amazon.com/Plugable-Adapter-Charging-Support-Motorola/dp/B005P2BY5I/ref=sr_1_8?ie=UTF8&qid=1424372010&sr=8-8&keywords=plugable+usb+2.0)

Works great!

+1: That would definitely be the place for authoritative comment for the Pi and FPP.

I would add to make sure it is a powered hub.

read this thread. http://falconchristmas.com/forum/index.php?topic=200.0 This has great info from others who have tested the items to see if they are compatible. I just bought the Plugable model USB2-HUB-AG7. Comes with a 3 amp power supply (wall wart). Currently have a 32GB memory stick, EDIMAX EW-7811Un WiFi device, and a LOR RS-485 adapter. Hope to use the hub to also power up the Pi.
