Has anyone used a parallax servo controller with vixen? I see the driver for it. I was on EFX-TEC's web site and they say their controllers only support vixen 1.1.11. They also don't sound like they will do what I want them to do. I want to be able to animate a skull for Halloween with servos and have it controlled by vixen though so I can integrate it into the program. Thanks for any help.

Here is the board: http://www.parallax.com/Store/Accessories/MotorServoControllers/tabid/160/CategoryID/35/List/0/Level/a/ProductID/376/Default.aspx?SortField=ProductName%2CProductName

The PSC plug-in for Vixen came out last year, but it had issues. I worked with KC for a while on it, but didn't get it fixed in time. KC has worked on it this year (with Vixen 2.xxx) and said he has fixed the issues, but I haven't had a chance to do any testing. Right now there isn't a specfic user interface for the servo controller but, you can use the standard sequence window. The Servo should be centered at 50%.
If you have more questions, let me know.

Thanks for the response Don. I have been trying to decide what to get. A EFX-TEC Prop-SX or a Parallax. The later is a lot less money if it will do what I want.

P.S. That is a great Halloween show.

That forum may be able to help you out a bit. There is a section there for Vixen as well.

Slightly off topic, but JEC has a DMX servo controller, and it definitly works with Vixen.

Just an update. I have got the parallax controller up and running in vixen. I had to design and etch a rs232 line driver to connect between the PC and the servo controller. Now it is time to get these servos into a skull before halloween.

I went with a DMX solution for servo control - figuring its a little more universal
