Has anybody used these or know if they'll work in Sean design:

http://cgi.ebay.com/T1006MJ-600V-8-AMP-ISOLATED-TAB-TRIAC-THYRISTOR-LOT-100_W0QQitemZ200109639128QQihZ010QQcategoryZ36332Q QtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItem

The seller claims they cross to a BTA08-600TW. If they'll work in Sean SSR board, then $29/100 is a steal.

I can’t verify this, but if it crosses to the BTA08-600TW, then it should at least work. If your staying with in 1 amp like most of us, it should work just fine. If you want to push more to the full current, I wouldn’t trust it without first calling ST.

There was one posted on CC that said the he was using this part. He had ordered 100 and was in the process of ordering 300 more. He didn’t say whether it worked or not. I’m just assuming that he had positive results and therefore was willing to buy more.

Thanks, Ernie.

I'm not planning on more than 3 strands of 100 per outlet, so that should put me at ~.9amps. I'm gonna try them and see what happens...

I think we figured the max was really 1.2 Amps, though it’s not like when you go over that point, it lights on fire either. This is the continuous current that keeps the internal temperature at a safe place. It’s a time constant thing of a few seconds, so if you’re turning the lights on and off a lot, it may be running a bit cooler.

they should fit in the 595 board (Brians coop)
Christmas is only 5 months or so away, got to get to building.
Ordered lights yesterday for Lee West Display. called and talked to owner? and he cut the shipping in half and cut the price on lots of lights.
$99 including shipping for 3500+ lights, some commercial. he has some that were used for one season really cheap. I think I ordered some of these They are listed for 3000 hours. Aprox 1000 hours left on them. These are commercial lights
not sure if I got 10 units of these = 4000 lights (400 per set, I ordered 10 sets)
The guy has two trailers full of new stuff and lots of the used commercial lights.
