It was suggested I might post here in regards to getting some idea of how many channels FPP can push from an raspberry Pi (B in my case, but I may buy a B+ and use the B as a backup)? I'm planning on around 25-32 Renard channels, and a 400 pixel Mega Tree (8 strands of 50 folded over for a 16x25 display) using an E682 and E1.31 Bridge (for Renard). For the tree, I'll likely not be doing anything super crazy - just displaying some sprites and using generally the built-in Nutcracker effects on Vixen 3.

My guess is that should be well within the limits of the hardware?

It will run at least 40-50,000 channels - - I think you're safe... I'm running just north of 10,000 on mine with no issues.

18500+ channels this year without any issues.
This is over DMX and E1.31

David has measured 128K channels at 50ms frame rate without issues using E1.31.
In my show I am doing 16K channels in one Pi and 32K channels in a second Pi, fully synchronized.
