Ware do you mount the pcb's for this? In another box, in the back?

I took a different approach. I noticed that most people are running the wire to the edges of the board. I mounted mine in the middle and minimized the runs of wire and made connections just off the board anywhere in the row or col. Not sure there are any advantages either way. The board itself was supported by stand offs that was mount from screws from the from side. Using black screws you don't notice.

Also the wire I use for the BUS connections (Rows and Cols) was electric fence grade. Worked great and had no insulation on it to strip off.

I pretty much did the same as Matt, and I used picture hanging wire for the connections - LOVED not having to strip wires...
