Well, I am new to all of this.
The reason I am as far as I am is because of all of you.

I am trying to build a 595 and control it with Vixen from a desktop computer.

I hooked it up and started a sequence and got very excited.
I saw lights dance around the board.
However, after further examination I noticed that when I turn on channel one in vixen, channel one and two come on.
When I turn on channel two, channel three and four come on. and so on.

Every time i turn on a channel, two come on. I can not just turn on one channel.

I do not know where to start on troubleshooting. Any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks.

What 595 board are you using? Which version of Vixen are you using?

dgreen,
The condition you are describing is most likely caused by an incorrect port setting in the bios. Go into the bios and check the parallel port setting. You will have to see which of the three available setting will work properly for your machine but the most common seems to be the EPP mode.

Good Luck

The version of the 595 is 2.4.1 and Vixen is 1.1.11
I will try the bios tonight after work and post back.
Thanks for the fast responce.

Someday I would like to find out why that fixes the problem.
