Latest Vixen update 2.0.7.0

I installed the newest update tonight. After installation, I was trying to create a new profile to use to test some leaping arch routines. I had trouble creating profile so I closed it. When I try to access my profiles now, I get an error message:

"Unhandled exception has occured in your application. If you click Continue, the application will ignore this error and attempt to continue. If you click Quit, the applilcation will close immediately.

Input string was not in correct format."

Is there an easy fix for this? I really don't want to have to reinstall Vixen and lose my main profle (304 Channels) and sequences.

Hummm ... I am the one , it seems who gets errors ( LOL - usually because of my ignorance of something - LOL ) , but , for once , the update works grand .
Oh , and KC , that dll you sent , do not do the trick . Any chance of getting you to do one for the NI PCI DIO 96 in the new Vixen ?

I also got a similar message when attempting to open a profile. I wiped out what I had (no loss of data as I'd not created anything yet); reinstalled Vixen 2.0+ from the download folder and retraced the steps (from memory) about creating the basis for profile. This time everything seemed to work correctly. (my most aggrivating step was due to not remember how to load a picture for the preview.) After quite a bit of playing I got the picture in, a toy megatree created and a trial run at some colors. Even with no hardware attached, everything works so far.

(Now if I can just remember what I did right and do it again :)

I finally had to go into "My Computer" and into the Vixen folders, found Profiles and deleted the new one I had created. Once I sent it to the recycle bin, Vixen started working O.K. again. Attempted to create a new profile again, and it worked fine this time, although I was very careful how I proceeded. (Watched Xmus video one more time......LOL).

The path problem went away after update. That was quick. Unfortunately Vixen still crashes when I change something in plugin configuration. Here is what ms bug report shows me:

I was getting the DMX addin error at startup as well. Or when you select (tick) the dmx addin after vixen has started.

I downloaded the update you posted for dmxaddin.dll and the error does not appear anymore at startup or when you select the DMX addin. However, if you configure the DMX addin by ticking Start DMX stream... then click OK everything appears to be fine but when you exit vixen it locks up without posting any of its usual error messages and it does not save the start dmx stream option.

Having selected start dmx stream, vixen will also lock up if I then go back and untick start dmx stream and click OK.

Were you going through the wizard? Did you have channels previously defined in the sequence? How many channels were there previously and how many were you importing? Any profiles involved?

Yes, far too many questions for so simple a problem. :)

Also, can you email me the file you used to import from?

KC, Here is the text file. I do have a profile and I am not sure about the "wizard". I didn't change the channel count. I just exported the channels, edited them in notepad and tried to import them. Do I need to change the encoding when I save it other than ANSI?

I can reproduce your error if I try to import when attached to a profile, which shouldn't be allowed (and will be addressed in an update). Your file was fine, it's just letting you do something wrong.
