I've done three group buys now for MR16's and decided just to stock them for us Christmas folks. The last Group buy got me a little nuts with 50+ boxes to the post office. Now at least with PayPal I can print labels and do postage automatically.

Here's a link with special pricing:

www.christmasinkent.com/MR16sales.htm (http://www.christmasinkent.com/MR16sales.htm)

I have it setup for PayPal but if you absolutely positively won't use PayPal send me a PM and we'll talk.

Funny you posted this today. I was at your site yesterday looking around. I noticed Do It Yourself Christmas is not listed as a site for the special pricing. An oversight I hope.

It feels nice to know I can order these anytime I need them.

Oh yeah, that was a major oversight (that has been corrected;)).

Thanks Kevin, I have been kicking myself for missing out on your group buy earlier this year.

One question. How do the MR16 32 LED lights stack up to a 100 watt flood light for brightness? I'm trying to figure out how many to purchase. The Lumens on Wirekat's page show around 27 for the Blue LEDs and a 100 watt GE flood light is rated at 1300. Is it that big of a difference?

Jeff,
The MR16 are made of LEDs and no comparison to a regular Flood. That being said, most of us here are probably having to use 2 or 3 for every place we would put a regular flood. Thats 1 difference. The other is power requirements/ consumption. This is my 1st year. I can let you know more as the year progresses. However, the experts on this site and people with the most experience so far that I've seen are Macrosill (Brian) and Wirekat (Kevin). I've also wanted to know what the equivalent/approx. watt rating would be in comparison. I would suggest contacting them :)

Yeah it's hard to get an apples and apples comparison.

I believe it takes about 4-5 MR16's to get about the same color wash as
one regular colored spot. It takes more red since the output from red MR16's
is less than green or blue.

Regular spots last about 2,000-3,000 hours (if you're lucky) vs 100,000 hours
for an MR16 LED.

Also MR16's use .167 amps (at 12 volts) per bulb vs about one amp for a
120 watt 120volt flood.

Regular spots last about 2,000-3,000 hours (if you're lucky)Very lucky if you're turning them on and off.

Another difference between regular incandescent spots and these, is the beam angle. These LED lamps have a flat reflector instead of the conic reflector that the regular spots have, so for this reason their beam angle is narrower. If you look straight into one of these it is nearly blinding, but of you look even at a relatively small angle, it doesn't look nearly as bright.
