View Full Version : 50 Hz Operation

There is a problem with the code for handling different power line frequencies, affecting both the PWM and non-PWM versions of the code. It seems to be primarily an issue for locales with a 50 Hz power line frequency. Sometime later (after a bit of testing) I'll release a new set of firmware to fix this problem.
Thanks to John W. for helping with this problem, and for his patience with this issue.

How is the 50hz Code coming along?
Just curious as I have just finished building a 16 channel renard for 24 volt ac lighting. BTW 18.432 mhz oscillators are really hard to get here in New Zealand.
Keep up the awesome work.

The Beta versions of the code in this forum have the 50 hz detection and operation built in, and it should be working now.
As far as the oscillators go, I would be surprised if they can be found in local stores anywhere in the world. Are you having trouble ordering them over the internet?

No problem ordering them over the internet, I just refuse to pay $44 usd for postage from mouser or $77 usd postage from digikey.com :)
Not to worry now, I have managed to get one off an old graphics card.
Cheers

I reckon that the code should be able to work out if its connected to 50 or 60Hz.. and adjust on they fly!

This is an old topic, and the firmware does exactly that.
