View Full Version : Minor issue when pulling chases

I think there is a minor problem with the algorithm used when pulling chases.

I pulled a chase cover 48 pixels exactly 8 timing ticks. I would expect it to fill exactly 6 pixels across each of the 8 tick rather than 1, 7, 7, 6, 7, 7, 6, 7.

Can you see if the chase could be a little more balanced and when the X/Y divide out evenly force the cells to be evenly distributed.

Thanks

Many ways to pull a chase.

I have no idea which one you used.

I need more detailed information to help.

Thanks.

I just pulled one and it looks ok to me.

Here is what I did.

Created 50 channels for an arch, created a work group and set the work group active.
Selected 48 of the 50 cells, I skipped 1 & 50, one cell wide and filled them with white.
Hit escape
Control clicked the first cell dragged through the 48 cells selecting them.
Right clicked and selected the floating menu.
Clicked on chase in the menu
Pick a corner and drug it 8 ticks to the right.

At this point I had the uneven chase covering an area 48 cells high and 8 cells wide.

My current algorithm is designed to chase 48 individual effects.

THAT is NOT what you are asking. You are looking to have your 48 effects somewhat evenly divided into "same number" (6) groups and then have THOSE groups moved to create the chase.

Your request is more complex.

I'm working on it now.

That was what I expected to happen. I was doing a simple chase drag and planned to stop after 8 ticks expecting even spacing. My only point is helping to make HLS even better.

Version 16S adds Grouping WHILE performing Chase.

Joe, I know you're a very busy man but, would it be too much to ask for you to pay a visit to our politicians here in Australia. You see a problem and find a way to fix it, normally in mere moments. Out politicians see a problem, go and stick their heads in the sand and hope it goes away!
I know, this is not a political arena. Just couldn't help myself.
