Hi, since i'm going to run out of time to build them, and they seem really cheap, i was looking at buying 6 or 8 chauvet intimidators or similar.. Not DIY at all, but i need to cheat, so i can finish the DIY stuff on time!!

Has anyone used these? I see them listed for abotu US$150 on pricegrabber.com

I haven't used these but I've used other Chauvet equipment. Overall they seem to make fairly innovative and quality equipment at an inexpensive price point. The thing you should be aware of is they aren't very bright. The lights are designed for indoor use with heavy fog so they can be a bit underwhelming in other environments.

I've found the local importer, and apparently he has a few 'hire' units. I might hire one, and see how it runs.. Yes the price is considerably lower than anything else.

Interestingly i've noted that theres another company in NZ, importing the 'same' lights, but they have a different brand name on them. I'd guess theres a factory somewhere in asia that manufactures them for several 'labels'
