I'm quite certain that I'm probably the only K8055 user left here, you guys have thousands of lights, while I just have the 8.
Is there any chance of support for the Velleman K8055? I understand it may not be worth the effort for only 8 outputs.

I know that in Vixen 2 there was support for the K8055, but in a 64bit environment the plugin wouldn't work.
If you guys could develop a dll/plugin that would work in Vixen 3 on both 64bit and 32bit PCs that'd be great. I'm sure that sounds a lot easier than it actually is.

This board is quite a few years old now, and Arduino and such have probably cheaply replaced it - but I still like it.

I will take a look at it and see if i can crank one out for you.

What's also nice about the K8055 is that it can be used as a trigger, too. It has some nifty I/O capabilities that give you the option to attach sensors to the board, so with some creativity and some good ol' DIY "out-of-the-box" thinking, you can make your show or certain effects interactive with the viewers, too.

i certainly love seeing and hearing people still using the older Pioneer equipment. that stuff is actually more valuable to DIY'ers than we think. fingers crossed hope someone can get you that 64 bit plugin to keep you up to date :)

So which dll do you pick:
1. K8055.dll
2. K8055D.dll
3. K8055Output.dll

These 3 are in the plugins/output directory of Vixen 2.x

Never Mind

For all Velleman users below is a 64 bit dll that you can use with Vixen 2.x. You just have to remove/rename the existing K8055d.dll that is in the directory now and then replace it with the attached.

I have completed a Vixen 3 K8055 controller module, just waiting on results for the testing.

A big thanks to teberle, he worked his magic and created 64bit plugins for Vixen 2 and 3, and they both work very well.
I've tested them both and I hope that others can get use out of them too.

Thanks once again!

I would like to use the K8055 board to trigger events in my Vixen 3 show. Would that be possible with this plugin?

Or does anyone know any other way to trigger things in V3?

Hi tojo. teberle did make a 64bit Vixen 3 plugin for the K8055, I've attached the V3 files he sent me last year. However, I'm unsure if the triggers would work correctly.

Place 'K8055D.dll' and 'K8055Dx64.dll' into the Vixen 3 /common/ directory
Place 'K8055 Controller.dll' into the Vixen 3 /modules/controller/ directory

If Vixen 3 isn't your only option, I personally found Vixen 2 to be slightly more reliable with the K8055. I've never used the trigger functions, but there is a Vixen 2 K8055 trigger download on this page (www.vixenlights.com/downloads/vixen-2-downloads/) under "Trigger Plugins", and a few forum posts here about getting it to work.

Thanks. I'll have to try this out, but first of all I have to solder my K8055 kit together.

You mention it's a 64 bit version and my show computer is a 32 bit version but I have another computer I can try it on.
