Hi everyone,
I'm looking to buy about 4000 feet of 16 or 18 gauge SPT1 or SPT 2 wire and a bunch of male and female ends.
Can you all chime in on where the best palces to buy bulk wire and ends are?
Thanks in advance!

The best prices that I've seen for the ends are these:

As for the wire, I got SPT1 from Skycraft Surplus for 6¢/ft., but unfortunately they are sold out now.

If you buy the plug and receptacle (quan >125 ea) from novelty, and spt from skycraft, your cost for a 12' extension is $1.82.
My Home Depot is selling these for $1.97 ea.

What if you need more than 12-feet? . Wull, then you buy in bulk!!
You can also just tin the one end of the SPT1 and connect it right to the board, eliminating the need for one of the plug or socket ends.Simmer down, I'm not saying that this is a 'better' way, as the cost is a bit higher than going the bulk route.
I'm just pointing out that this is a pretty good deal if you can use that length. It was a short time ago that people were clamoring for the Home Depot $1.24-3 pack.
Edit: Looks like I have strayed (again) from the topic question, my suggestion has nothing to do with buying in bulk as requested.

Bob - Do you have the SKU for that cord?
I'll need bulk as well, but that is a good price for the shorter ones!

Kevin,
I wish we were near each other as we could order some of this. You have to buy a case (10000') but splitting the cost it would come out at 6 cents a foot and shipping is a flat $5.

If I new what the weight of these spools were, I'd know it it was worth splitting and shipping to others.

If I new what the weight of these spools were, I'd know it it was worth splitting and shipping to others.I purchased 1000' from Skycraft and it weighed 22 pounds. It was shipped as 4 250' spools. These could easily fit into a Priority Mail Flat Rate Box that ships anywhere in the US for $8.95, regardless of weight. You would probably want to pack it in another box first and then in the Flat Rate Box so it would hold up during shipment.

Kevin,
PM me if you want to go in for half of 10000'. I'll split initial cost and shipping costs all around to be fair.
If your interested, lets get together on the phone and work this out.

I am interested, but I want brown, black or green - it looks like they only have the clear - is that right?

It looks like they have brown and black, but only in 250' spools which are 19¢ and 24¢ per foot (if you buy 4). That's 3 or 4 times as much as the clear w/gold wire in 2500' spools! I settled for gray when I bought mine.

I PM'd Tony and said I wanted to hold off for a bit to see what the best buy on Green, Black or Brown would be, so keep the links coming! :p
I want it to be as hidden as possible during daylight hours, and Charlotte, NC just doesn't get enough snow to hide stuff :(

I teamed with 2 other individuals over at PC to go in on a bulk order for 10000'. When they attempted to contact Goodmart, they found those who answered the phone were unresponsive and lacking in customer service. It took multiple calls to find out that they would not honor the online price and their excuse was that it was not in stock and was a mistake. They then quoted a price of about $65 for 250' spools.
I'm definitely staying with Novelty Lights, https://ssl.adhost.com/noveltylights/merchant.cfm?pid=285&step=4, unless someone finds a cheaper source.

As for male end plugs - I found a pack of 2 for .99 at Walmart. I also got some outlet covers there for 1/2 of Home Depots price.

Try using 2 cond bell wire or theromstat wire. It can found in muli conductor thus allowing more than 1 channel on it.
