This is first attempt of a pixel matrix using 16x50 pixels ws2811 ribbons (800 pixels) programmed through nutcracker and played through x-lights

That looks awesome. What software did you use to create the sequence?

Great job.

Questions:
- Are those 30/m or 60/m ribbons? With the granularity on color, I'd swear it's 60/m.
- Ribbons spaced about 1" apart?
- What are the lengths of the ribbons? 5m?

Hmmm I might have to do some reading on xlights.... I thought that was some kind of interface between lor and Renard/dmx stuff. Now if you just post links to where you go em and how you built them, I'll Copy you...(imitation being the most sincere for of flattery and all)

Tom, xLights has definitely moved on from the scheduler function it had several years ago. Since incorporating the Nutcracker program for RGB effects on models, it has become the single easiest way to program RGB (short of hiring someone else to do it). You really should check it out if you are doing pixel based RGB.

Just out of curiosity..what made you pick the E682 over the E6804?

Thanks for the heads up. I will do some reading...

Great. Thanks for more ideas.....
I picked up some pixel strings and have been trying to decide what to do with them. Looks like I may start with a small matrix and expand in the future.
I knew I shouldn't have logged on tonight!

sorry for the delay in the reply its a busy time for me with work right now ill try and answer all questions if i miss any let me know

software : was nutcracker/xlights
ribbons : 30led per meter ws2811,5m long and spacing in the video is about 1.5 inches apart but when i put it up its going to be 3inches apart
the reason i went with the e682 is that i brought them before the e6804 came out and plus i have loads more of pixel props im working on

the the software it can be found here and downloaded for free http://nutcracker123.com/nutcracker/releases/
the controller can be found here http://www.sandevices.com/
