Today I built the base structure for two firework bursts that I am going to incorporate into my display. Disney's Believe in Holiday Magic is going to be the main piece the lights are sequenced to this year. Considering that the music has some opportunity to mimic shooting fireworks, I decided to build a 6 legged burst structure that will hopefully look like a shooting firework.

I plan on having the center height of the burst at 15' and the burst diameter is a little over 6'. The mast/pole will be wrapped in clear minis and will have multiple channels driving the lights. The pole will have the effect of a straight leaping arch to allow for the shooting effect of the firework. Each leg of the burst will be wrapped in 70 count multi LED, red minis, and green minis for a count of 210 lights on each leg. Each of the 3 colors will be driven by its own channel.

I have yet to attach any lights, but the structure itself is built. The design is modular which will allow me to unscrew each leg and as well as the mast/pole for storage. You can view pictures here at my website. http://www.palombolights.com/how_to_project_bursts.html

Thanks Wayne. I'm trying. :) Little by little, I'm adding content this year as my plans progress.

Not a problem at all. I found the AMP spreadsheet online elsewhere myself.

I have a how-to for the burst on my site. Here is the page which include a link to the word document.

Great timing! I have been thinking of doing a similar July 4th display this year and wasn't sure how to go about it. This has me inspired to give this a whirl! Is there a reason you chose to make the wood block so thick?

I was thinking of using two 4-way PVC joints at 45deg angles (think X and a cross) with a bolt through it and have the separate posts go out from that.
