k108 / CK1610 did I buy the wrong board?

I just bought a CK1610 board kit I was going to use with Vixen,
does this serial board not work with this program?

I'm not planning on tinkering much, I just need the eight channels right now.

Do I need to return it and get a standard 8 channel parallel?
