Why was I born with no musical ability?

Why is Vixen so easy to use; yet I find the audio sequencing so very difficult?

I have looked at XMUS's how to's on YouTube and think that he has done some amazing work, yet I find the task so very challenging.

Is there anyone willing to develop sequences (64 channel) and distribute them to the group? Or how hard is it to change sequences already posted, e.g Xmus's 192 channel chopped done to 64?

Thanks

Dennis

Dennis,
Sharing sequences always sounds better than the reality frequently produces. Because everyone builds what they like (not the same output devices) it ends up taking a lot of time to get things mapped to your hardware and making any sense to you viewers. It isn't that it is impossible, but in the end it won't really save you any time in my opinion. The good news is it is still 9 months until you really need it!
Good luck and have some fun with it,
Dave

Dennis ,
Don't give up the ship ( not yet anyway - LOL )
I was in the EXACT same boat your in and to tell you the truth , After you sit with doing one for a while , they really are NOT all that hard .
What I am gonna say , is kinda like putting on your pants , one person will tell you to start with the left side , whilst another will argue to start with the right , and then comes along the guy who tells you sit down and put them BOTH on at the same time !
Anyway , take what I just said , and here is what I do :
I listen to the song at LEAST 6 times consecutively , THEN , I key out ( hit the keys on the keyboard ) the HARD or , less frequent sections FIRST , then , I progressively get the easier ones , till I get to the simplest rhythem beat . THEN , after I am done , I kick back , watch it and then when I find a section I ether do not like , or want to edit , I replay the song in 3/4 speed ( making sure not to miss the very beginning of what I am altering and viewing the entire thing , BUT concentrating on ONE thing/area , at a time ) .
I then , do this um-teen million times till I get what comes out agreeing to my likes .

Good luck and again , don't give up ... its not as hard as you might think .

Dennis,
I took my old sequences from 2006 and transfered them over to 2007. I had to edit every one to fit the new layout and channel assignments. It was not an easy task. Although there were 128 channels to move and over 300 in total in 2007. At 64 it would be a little easier, about half so, lol. It might be a good way to see how things work and get some sequencing ideas. The programming grid look so different that the actual light flashing. The preview helps but is not perfect, it to appears different. There is a collection of sequences from 2006, I believe, somewhere around here. I think it might be on Firegod's site. There you can find lots of sequences, some with music. Although most are Vixen 1.0 sequences. If you would like I share my sequence files, just send me an email and I will reply with the files.
