Just a thought, but since there are quite a few people that "chat" using your chat. Why not supply a VOIP program to use such as Teamspeak 3? you could make it so ONLY supporting members have access to it. This would help in having people talk others through problems, and or teaching them while building or sequencing. They can follow along in real time as one person talks them through it.

one of the reasons for the OMC's, flash based voice chats aren't to bad (no install + no need to launch a program), but people tend to stay in them for sorter amounts of time and only in certan parts of the day, as compared to text where people stay in more and just check in when they can (aka at work, or just working around)

True, but it would give a place for supporting members to "talk" someone through an issue rather than trying to decipher someones "chat". Sometimes it is easier to understand the spoken word than the written one. Just a suggestion.

well here is a beta place for people to use, http://abcholidays.serveblog.net/open.html it will allow webcams / mics / whiteboard / and pic. as long as you have flash it should work. lets see how this is used, and if its liked a lot maybe we can make it a perminit thing.

teamspeak does have a public server so that 2 parties could just say meet you on this/that server and help talk through the problem. maybe an icon or something can be added to peoples avatar to show they have TS or a mic to chat.

That is true. Great idea!
