The reason for this post was to help those converting from Vixen and adding additional channels into an existing layout - not just at the END as new channels.

HLS renumbers your channels based on its "Channel Number" sequence prior to clicking the "Green" Renumber for Output button.

As an example ....

If you had this within the Raw Channel grid

Name Universe Channel
CH1 0 25
CH2 0 26
CH3 0 27
CH4 0 28
CH5 0 29
CH6 0 30

Use used "Renumber Universe" and you highlighted those 6 cells you would get --- say Universe = 10

Name Universe Channel
CH1 10 25
CH2 10 26
CH3 10 27
CH4 10 28
CH5 10 29
CH6 10 30

Assume the are non-RGB channels for now --- just so we don't have channel count jumping by 3

If you were to click the Green Button --- those 6 channel would become

Name Universe Channel
CH1 10 1
CH2 10 2
CH3 10 3
CH4 10 4
CH5 10 5
CH6 10 6

Assume for some reason you wanted CH3 and CH6 to be swapped physically in your display .... so you need to change the position of those channels in HLS.

Assuming they have already been ordered as above --- make the following change

Name Universe Channel
CH1 10 1
CH2 10 2
CH3 10 6
CH4 10 4
CH5 10 5
CH6 10 3

Clicking the GREEN button will produce

Name Universe Channel
CH1 10 1
CH2 10 2
CH6 10 3 ---- note change
CH4 10 4
CH5 10 5
CH3 10 6---- note change

Version 9H will now SAVE this reordered channel array for you every time you

Click GREEN button - "Reorder for Output"
OK from Raw Channels
SAVE HLS.

Next time ... AFTER you exit HLS and re-enter - the reordered array will be there.

For converted Vixen users, if you added channels are they are NOT positioned in the array were you want them (for physical ordering) - use this process to fix it.

Remember --- there is a "Renumber Channel" button so place any series of channel number to make your job easier.
