This is one a friend of mine showed me a while back. All you need is a 3V "coin cell" type battery (Watch battery). I picked up the one I use from the dollar store. I think you can even get these cheaper online if you look around. Just slide the battery between the Anode and the Cathode (anode = + side, cathode = - side) and find out if your led works! My friend who showed me this bought a pack of 1000 assorted leds off of ebay. Problem is they were the clear type, and they were all mixed together. He tested and sorted all 1000 leds with one of these coin cells. So I offer no guarantees, but I have also used mine to test a couple hundred. Don't get mad at me if you go to start your ledTriks panel, open up your watch, take out the battery, get 10 leds in, and your battery is dead.
