Sean,

I know this may be asking too much, but is it possible to have one forum for Nutcracker (either existing or new)? Between the postings on LOR, Planet Christmas, Doityourselfchristmas and the AusChristmasLighting forums, I'm missing good information that is posted on one, but not the other. Just a request (among your hundreds)! :) Thx!

So how is he supposed to deciDE which one? He has users in every area and to me, it only makes sense to have one specific to each.

This has been my issue,

There are people who are only in one forum.

when someone posts something in one forum that i think has good information, i cross post to

DLA
DIYC
PC
LOR
LSP
HU
CC
LSH

DLA, DIYC, ACL, HU have a dedicated forum for Nutcracker, the others i have to pick general forums (Like "The Coffee Shop" in LOR). Not ideal as i fill it up with stuff not everyone wants to see and others fill it up with non nutcracker.

i am surprised by how many people only post to one forum. Many in PC , for example.

Since nutcracker works with Vixen, LOR, LSP and HLS it pretty much covers all the sequencers people use.

Maybe next year we could figure a way, i am always afraid there are some people whom i would miss.

BTW, the people who look at nutcracker posts varies.

For the post on the tutorial last week

DLA: 44 views http://diylightanimation.com/index.php?board=48.0
DIYC: 44 views http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?102-Nutcracker
ACL: 21 views http://auschristmaslighting.com/forums/index.php/board,61.0.html
LOR: 22 views http://forums.lightorama.com/index.php?/forum/25-the-coffee-shop/
PC: 16 views http://forums.planetchristmas.com/index.php?/forum/208-rgb-based-lights/
LSP: 5 views http://www.lightshowpro.com/tips-tricks/
HU: 1 view http://holidayuniversity.com/forums/index.php?board=118.0
CC: 55 views http://www.christmascarolina.com/forums/nutcracker-rgb-effects-builder/
LSH: http://www.lone-star-holidays.com/forums/

On the "Bars enhancement" thread

Posts vs Views

DLA: 3/105
DIYC: 2/84
ACL: 2/52
LOR: 0/20
PC: 1/28
HU: 0/1
CC: 2/52

Based on what i see, i get the most feedback from DLA and then DIYC and then it really drops off.

I think if i only posted on DLA, i would miss alot of users.

thanks

That is for sure... I don't use any DLA gear any longer (retired my Freestyle) and technical discussions are verboten there (which I enjoy) so I don't get there too much now.

*NOT* a dig at DLA btw - just the way it is. Perhaps the answer is to have your own forum on your own site and folks go there instead of you going everywhere - just a thought... That way everyone can see responses that might pertain to them as well.

Sean, is there an good open source forum software that you may be able to use on your own site? I do agree that you may be cross-posting to all of those forums, but when people write in about problems they found or cool stuff, it only stays on that forum and others are missing out. Not to mention, what a pain it must be for you to post to all 8 forums (talk about a time suck). I bet that if you had one forum for Nutcracker, it would all of the posts combined on it from the other forums. Thx!
