Today I got to thinking about the radio in my fathers vehicle, which displays the station ID and song name. After a little hunting I found this...

How cool would it be to transmit data about your display to vehicles that are watching? There is at least one off the shelf solution, IPods new transmitter displays track name via RDS.

What would be awesome is if you had more control over what was displayed beyond just track info.

Take a look at this link here - http://www.pira.cz/rds/

*** Note: this won't work will all transmitters ***

The RDS encoder can work off of a serial input (oh, KC..... plugin??) but - the command can be simply issued from the command line - and passed by vixen with the command line option.

I was talking about this last week with a few folks or this years display or myself.

I found a couple of sites that have schematics and what not. I wonder if something like that would work through my tunecast. :?:

JRock posted this site a while back on computerchristmas.com. I don't know anything about it, but I remembered seeing it.

Don't even know if this is what you are looking for?
