I have been scheming up some things to do on Halloween. If possible, I would like to use my grinch and the SSR's I just received (BTW, Thanks wjohn). Just wondering how the V2.5 SSR's will do when using lights and objects other than traditional Xmas lights. I know I need to stay under some certain perameters so that I do not damage the board. I am thinking just along the lines of spoot lights and single bulbs inside a head/pumpkin. I am pretty sure I will be okay with things like this, but it will probably grow into animated objects and motion triggered objects.

I made a post in the halloween topic, and the notion of using 24v SSR's instead of 12V was mentioned. Is this possible to do with the SSR's I recently received.

(I am not setting out to ruin my equiptment. I would just like to satisfy my curiosity here before I find out another way)

I know it should work fine - I have 3 Ren24's on my roof with each output controlling a single C9 bulb - haven't had a problem! you can do a "shimmer" effect on the single bulb for haloween for a cool flame effect.

I typically stick a c9 into the pumpins after they've been carved - works perfectly!

Thanks for the mention of the Shimmer. I will be roasting a skeleton over a fire, that will make for perfect flames.

SS, you can run the SSRs at 24 VAC, that is how we have them set up in AUST.
