I am pleased to provide you access to another HLS capability.

One my website - you can download HLS_WavConverter.zip

Load into into it own folder - NOT ON THE DESKTOP!!!!! - There are a lot of associated dlls with this application

The zip file contains the program HLS_Convert2Wav.exe

This utility can be used to convert MP3 or non-standard WAV files to WAV files HLS can process.

This utility can also be used to extract the audio from a variety of videos and produce the WAV files required by HLS.

I have not been able to test a wide range of file types ....

It works nicely with MP3 and MP4 files.

If you find another that it will convert - please post here so all will know.

Enjoy

The zip file is available on my website - link below.

Failed
.mp4 file
isom: MP4 Base Media v1 [IS0 14496-12:2003]
- mp41: MP4 v1 [ISO 14496-1:ch13]
audio:
mp4a: MPEG-4 AAC LC
48000Hz 88 kb/s tot , stereo (2/0)

I don't fault the audio extractor on the failure as that stack of videos that didn't work was a bit of a curveball. They play just fine in WMP, Zune Player, and VLC but for some reason several editing apps have given me issues with them in the past. HLS Audio Extractor processes them to the end and then Windows prompts that it stopped working correctly and generates an Event 1000 in the Event Viewer. A wav file is generated when it crashes approximately the size I would expect from the file but loading that .wav in WMP is basicly zero length silence.

Thanks for the testing.

For the most part - if it fails there is nothing I can do to resolve it.

So many different codecs etc out there.

The intent is to help those that want to sequence to audio from a video ... providing I can extract it.
