If you are building a MegaTree using single color LED or Incan strings - HLS can provide a 3 to 1 channel count reduction in the Sequence Editor.

I use 4 different color LED strings to create a single Megastring for my MegaTree.

Red, Green, Blue, White.

I sequence those four color strings as 2 sequence channels; A single color White channel and an RGB channel for the Red, Green, Blue strings.

Remember - an HLS RGB channel does NOT have to be a RGB string - but can also be three different color strings.

Lets say you use Red, Green, and White for your tree.

Just tell HLS you are using an RGB channel.

Assign the Red string to the red RGB channel, the Grren string to the green RGB channel and the White string to the blue RGB channel.

When you sequence - only select true colors so only that associated color string lights. When you want the White string to light - just program HLS's RGB channel for BLUE.

This way you can reduce your sequence channle count down by a factor of 3.

Enjoy.

Nice trick.
