Vixen 3.0 Adjustable preview

Could someone give me some tips, advice for drawing the preview for Vixen 3.0.
Seems that no matter what I try to add it comes up as an outlined circle and when I change it the node disappears and I just get an outlined box instead.
Have tried arcs for the arches, lines etc.
Outlined triangles are the only things I have successfully added so far for the mini trees but if they are to be RGB ones it seems too limited to draw it accurately.

Or should I just wait patiently for the next version of 3.0 which will have some easier and more useful tools for preview creation?

From memory, make sure you go file save before closing the program. I had the same problem a couple of times and I'm pretty sure that was all I was doing wrong, not saving.

This is in Vixen 3.0 Kev.
There is no file menu that I can see, or a save.

I believe I have since seen a post saying that as its a beta the circle is the only shape you can use, so I think I need to wait for the full release.

I'm having a problem also....I can see my house but can't assign any channels to the house.....at least nothing small enough to represent a string.....I'm missings something like I was in setting up my controllers and channels.......It's different than 2.X enough so that I don't quite know what I'm looking to do........Also in 2.X you could easily asign colors to the channels but it's not that apparent to me in 3.0 so I'm not sure how to do that in 3.0............ Anyone got a short set of steps that works?

I know there are more changes coming but I'd like to get enough working so that I can at least play around and see what some of the effects do......I think I have everything else set up and ready but I'm stuck here now.....

FOLLOW ON POST EDIT...Found where I was going wrong.....I had to "ADD PATCH" and draw the picture of my string using the circle (flattened into a pancake).....apparently that's the only aspect that is enabled right now.... but at least I got it so that it will show me effects in my display....enough to play with for now.....
