Texas Mini Interest

Well, my wife made me clean the garage...now we have a place to gather and have some fun. Who all would be interested in a Texas Mini? I would love to host it if it does not go larger than say 20 folks here in Pearland Texas. Any larger than that and we have to find a hall.

i am aware of this and i will be there. I am thinking something smaller and earlier. i guess i am thinking of a more personto person type thing than a big convention.

Actually we have a good half dozen members in Pearland alone....and lots of blinky flashy nuts in Houston alone.

What I am thinking is to have all the control boards available for discussion and to float ideas around. Tip and Tricks...what you did right and what you did wrong last year and so on. I will supply beverages and food for the day so you would not need to bring anything.

The date is still to be determined by when folks are available.

Cool. My wife told me that my New Years resolution was to find an interest group and join. I said, I'm apart of DIYC, Done. She said, It can't just be on the internet. So this Mini would satisfy that requirement, Done.. LOL

We also have regional meetings in LSH (Lone Star Holidays) the state has 5 regions and we have many local meetings in each region through out the year just like you want.

If you want to setup a meeting at your home just contact one of the local RDC (Regional Development Committee) representatives and that will get the ball rolling. That way everyone in all 5 regions will see the posts. this also prevents conflicts of other local meetings.

This has worked very well in the past, you can setup the meeting with any topics you want, location, food, etc.

it is very possible that the mini will be after I receive the wire and plugs...Yes lol. I am sure I could arrange to have a few extra enclosures around as well...HOWEVER...THIS IS NOT THE INTENDED PUROSE...I am in it for the fun!

Chris, I'm not sure if it's too late but I'd be interested in coming by and seeing some "professionals". I just started this year so I wouldn't have much to add but could learn quite a bit. I'm across town in Tomball. Aaron (Air_run) mentioned you were a good guy to know in the area.

I am planing on doing this. In fact I have submitted a request to my COO and she will let me know if it is approved or not. She may place limitations on what I can do or how much time I can spend on this. :lol:

I am thinking May 26th. The reason is I expect the plugs to arrive in May and I need them in and gone before we do this.

That date is still good from my side....I have two things that could affect this...

1. Wire and Plugs have to arrive and be shipped (otherwise we have no room)
2. A project of my wife's has to finish so I can move a huge load of furniture out of my garage! lol

Any later than this date and we run into HEAT...and I mean HOT. However, I am open to suggestions (and I will supply all the ice cold drinks to compensate!)

If you are on Lone Star Holidays as well you should post this up there. You'd have a pretty big audience of Texas decorators that might be interested. It's three weeks before the Academy so you may or may not get people attending but it doesn't hurt. This sounds a lot like the workgroups we have regularly all over the state and they get a good number of people at them so you never know.

I am glad you asked!

Unfortunately, the garage will not be cleared by then. I as a bit optomistic on when I could get the wire and plugs out. I will be done by the end of the month though.
What do you guys think about June 9th? I may have to rent a portable AC unit for the Garage but we can work on that.
