Hey DIYC gang,

I just got my programmer and am working on my chips for the REN64XC. I have ran through the tutorials and it appears I have programmed my first chip. This is what I saw on the screen:

Programming Target (12/11/2011 10:36:33 AM)
PIC16F688 found (Rev 0x6)
Erasing Target
Programming Program Memory (0x0 - 0xF3)
Verifying Program Memory (0x0 - 0xF3)
Programming Configuration Memory
Verifying Configuration Memory
PICkit 2 Ready

Verifying Target
PIC16F688 found (Rev 0x6)
Verifying Program Memory (0x0 - 0xFFF)
Verifying EEPROM Memory (0x0 - 0xFF)
Verifying User ID Memory
Verifying Configuration Memory
PICkit 2 Ready

Does this look correct? the 0x0 leads me to believe nothing is there. I appreciate any input that can be offered. My show is still not up. THe 128 channels of grinch are fine, it is getting the final 64 going that is holding me up. I under estimated the time required once again this year.

Thanks

Mike

Those are the address ranges that it is programming.
I believe you are "good to go". That being said, if you use the PicKit2 application, you can simple "read" the device and it will display the content (as hex) in the window of the tool. If it is all 0xFF than the device is blank.

I'm not sure if this video is working, but you can follow this....

Wayne,

Your videos are what I used as I walked through the process. Thanks for taking the time to do those!! It was intimidating to step up to the REN64XC this year after using the Grinches for my first 2 years, but I can say... WE HAVE BLINKY FLASHY this year once again. Dimming is awesome!!

Thanks everyone once again for the help this year. We are up to 192 channels this year, adding 2 more arches and a 3 color spiral tree. I am sold on dimming, so I will convert completely next year...and as always...add more channels.

Merry Christmas to all!!

Mike
