Hi folks,
I like others , have become hooked on this site. It was actualy my spouse that wanted to get into setting up a big computerized display. After some research I found this site and haven't been able to stop checking in almost hourly.
My main question is where to get the allegro chips for the Grinch. I live in New Brunswick, Canada and any places that I have contacted ,want to only deal in orders of 1,200 units. Does anybody know of Canadian distributors.
I have downloaded the pcb files and am going to ech my own boards. Also I will start building my ssr boards as well. Any additional info would be great

Hello and welcome

A lot of users have had trouble finding the Allegro chips. Even requesting the free samples can take months. I posted a question on the below thread about a replacement and was given two options to try. I'm awaiting my PCB's before I can test but user P. Short stated that he is already using one of them just fine.

I hope this helps. I went with P. Short's suggestion and bought the STP16C596B1R chips

Try here:

They should sell them to you for $1.50USD each
