Yeah, I definitely think that this forum is the way to go. But how do we inform Hill and how do we get visitors to CC to post here rather than there?

It appears as though the creation of this forum is what pushed Hill to move on the requests he has been getting for the last couple years. Its all up to the community now.

I don't think the forums need to be a one or the other thing. So I don't see a need for an effort to try to get folks to post here instead of at CC...but more of...just making sure folks here know CC is available, and that folks at CC know this is available. Let them decide which one better suites their needs.
There are huge amounts of very useful information at CC. Especially in the How tos. I would hate for CC to go away, or for folks to think it is not needed any more.

I suggest all members separate emotion from fact. Start a poll to identify the pros and cons of staying here vs converting the content to CC. Using this list it may be easier to see what direction is in the best interest of the members.
That being said I am very impressed with this new site. From a quick look at Hill's changes it appears that many of the improvements found here are reflected with his changes. Let's not make a hasty decision if there are additional benefits to be had. Agreed?
This is my opinion and it counts for little. I see no reason this changes anything at all. Hill should do what he thinks he should. This forum should do what it thinks it should. In the long run it will work itself out. Thats what makes the internet great, there is no monoply on it. These forums are not about property, or I'm right and your wrong. They are about the free flow of information and sharing ideas so that many with like interest can add input. This allow whats being worked on to become more than anything the one person could have done. Hill was asked by many to update the board and did not have the time. Others such as Brian saw a need and answered it. Its easy to be reactive to things, it takes vision to be proactive. I see no reason both boards should not stay up with no "us against them kind of issues". Let the users make the call on where they wish to post things. The one who is proactive will always win out. When a manufactor does not listen to the customer you always have another who will step in and do what is wanted and gain market share. I know that Brian and other all hoped this would be the one place every thing came together and keep it all together. It may be that way one day but it's not very likely it will every be the only place people post. I agree it would be nice to have one place for all the information. But it will take time even if it happens. This group of individuals owe much to Hill, I for one wish nothing but good for him. I still post on CC and most likely will as long as I am in this hobby and there are people there that will ask or listen to what I have to say. I considered Vixenlights forum my home and now I consider this new forum my home for christmas lights on the internet. I for one am glad to be welcomed by most here and glad to have the newer forum (Thank You Brian and others who made it happen.) I hope to be able to design more toys for all of you (and me) no matter if your home is DiyC or CC.
