hit LOWES and cleaned them out of all colored lights last night. Then I went to another LOWES, same thing, then I went to Home depot. They are STOCKED. Got each box at $1.14 apiece (low enough for me) and spent a total of $150 :D

Here is also wha tI got 2 boxes of clear icicles, 10 green and 1 red mini lights, and 2 boxes of Blue icicles and 12 boxes of 100 mini clear.

LED's are hard to find. Stores bought very few of them because well....price scares people. Even a simple person can see that LED's cost at least 5-10x that of regular lights.

So about mid december they finally got near a "fair but still high price" and they vapored.

lol. I got an Olsen 595 and 4 Ren16 PCB's on the COOP. If I get all SSR's and board up and running its 192 channels :D :twisted:

You guys are lucky in the USA!
The cheapest way to buy these types of lights in a Australia (OZ) is in long sets pre-packaged.
I paid AU$40.00 + del. for each.
20 off x AU$40.00 = $800.00

I then had to cut them up in 6 sections.
6 sections of 90 bulbs and 2 section of 30 bulbs (left overs)
Total of 600 bulbs

6 x 7.8m and
2 x 2.8m (The left overs)

So I get 6 strings of 7.8m long for about AU$45.00 del. Plus all the work to make them.

Modding the Bud Lights. Cutting them shorter and adding Fig 8 tails on the end to run them into the controllers.

This was the cheapest way of fitting out the Mega Tree.

120 strings of bud lights
7m tall
10,800 bulbs
It has 120 channels with phase control (dimming)
3 custom made controllers running it linked via LAN with UDP packets off a laptop.

The 3 three brown boxes are the controllers.
The black box is the 2 KVA 24V Transformer to run it.

So as you see. It cost a lot of money

I would like to have colour bulbs some time.
They cost $4 per pack of 5 bulbs here. What a rip off.

ok got 400 of the 1600 Green on a spool. all 1680 Gold on a spool all 1400 Blue, 1200 white and I need to finish the red.

Red and Blue are the only colors left around here. Looked at 5 stores and it's all the same.
