Here's my first attempt at animating the lights to music. Sorry the video is so bad. My video camera sucks at night. I also had to overlay the actual mp3 for audio, because the camera had a hum so bad that you could barely hear the music.

Anyway, there's over 30,000 lights. The stuff you see that looks red is actually multi-colors. 36 channels (3 parallel ports) - only 25 in use right now. Using brick-type SSRs I found on ebay.

Some stats:
Mega tree - 3200 lights.
Star - 600 lights
Each of the 6 mini trees - 500 lights.
House, not counting bushes, columns, and wishing well - 12,000 lights
Bushes, columns, and wishing well - > 10,000 lights

I'm going to try to get a video earlier in the evening with some ambient light.

But here it is for now. http://www.bradleyjacobs.com/RussianDance.wmv or here...

Here it is earlier, with more daylight. It's a little easier to see what's going on.

Here is last year's static display. You can get a much better Idea of how the lights actually look on the house. http://www.bradleyjacobs.com/lights/index.html

Enjoy,

Great job Bradley. Outstanding especially for a first timer.

Good sequencing.

10 gauge wire carrying 220 Volts from 60 Amp breakers saw that in your web site .
change the breaker for a 30 amps it could save you and your house

Bradley

You are supposed to do that to get the best sound. Most of us do so cheer up sounds great and looks even better! That sure is a lot of lights on the house, looks like Clark's house.

Thanks for the concern, but they're pre-existing breakers that feed my shop. So I just slaved off of them. Next year I plan to have a dedicated 200amp service put in for my lights. Cheers!

Great!

Liked the music and the the way it brings the lights alive.
Enjoyable! I would like that across the road from my place anytime!

Good work!

I liked the effect at the end when the music stopped.

Thanks for the kind words and encouragement. I'm really loving this.

Thanks. Since I'm just using on/off channels, that's what I came up with in lieu of dimming.

Here's a video with more ambient light. I think it turned out better.
