Sorry but usb to parellel will not work with vixen.

look at this page http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/wiki/index.php?title=Comparison_of_DIY_Boards
you may find a better way to achieve your goal for less money using usb to serial

You can parallel both units together on the same parallel port for a total of 8 channels so it would be on no real use like that. You can add a second parallel port card to your pc and then add the second relay broad for a total of 16 channels. I think Vixen (or maybe the PC) is limited to a total 3 ports per PC. If you are using a laptop that has a PCMCIA slot or an express slot you can get a parallel port add on for them as well. Hope this help you out. You can go with a SS8, SS16, SS24 and have 24 ports that will all dim and will work off a signal comm port.

simple answer is no

your first post showed you using machanical relays they do not dim. you will need solid state relays (non zero cross or random turn on )

with parellel you would use two ports one for each relay board and two plugins in vixen

Sounds like you are a bit all over the place. Unless you already own the parts, those Relay boards can cost nearly as much to build as a 16 or 24 Channel controller.

You can get in on the current group buy that Lizard currently has going on. Then you will have a 8,16, or 24 channel Renard controller that capable of dimming. http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?16935-RENARD-SS-group-buy
