KC, you've done a great job with vixen. it's currently running on a lappy in my garage, doing EXACTLY what i've told it to do. i thought i'd ramble a little about the parts i stumbled on getting there.
regrettably, i hadn't read this sub-forum while working with vixen. i'm more of a smashnose, grab the link at the top, RTFM later type of user. i'm more educated now :)
here's my list:
importing midi's
i'm not sure if this is broke, or my expectation is wrong. i have a piano only midi that runs through the addon fine, but if i use more complex midi files, the timing of the midi vs the output is increased 1:1.3
i had a solid repo where i would use the midi addon that would take a 5:20 midi file and sequence it across about 8:30 or so. i got around it by just converting it to mp3, but this forced me to sequence it by ear. i would listen to 10 sec or so of the music, try to recreate it,
reordering channels
the only way that i could find to reorder channels was to simply grab the channel and drag it up to where i wanted it to be. so far, i'm only running 41 channels, but i've already found it useful to build my sequences into 3 chunks of 64 channels each. one for output, one for sequence, one for plugin. some sort of text input would be great here. maybe i can edit the output channel in the same dialog that i rename/color the channel in the first place?
no full screen preview (http://www.doityourselfchristmas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=1291)
this one got me at first. everytime i'd want to listen to the next 10 seconds of audio, i'd go 20 sec back just to click the windows so that i could see the sequence again. i got around this by keeping the preview window minimized and the sequence window !maximized. as long as i used the pause to stop, rather then the stop, i could keep listening and sequencing the same segment as many times as i wanted.
this brought me to a new problem. if i wanted to preview anything that i had just sequenced, i would have to have to play/stop/play before the preview window would close and relaunch with the new sequence.

i hate to admit it, but i sat there scrolling my mouse from end to end a few times too. never even gave a thought about shift-click. is there a list of keyboard shortcuts for vixen?
just another user's thoughts.
