Has anyone ordered from here? It is a Sintech company, and I was looking for the industrial grade RS232 to RS485 adapter that Mike did a review on. They have it for $8, but the website is kinda shady ... have to create an account in order to purchase, etc. Let me know if you have used this site, or if there is a better place to get Sintech Model: STM485I. Thanks.

I've used that converter and it worked great. I think oldcqr (mike) actually did a review of that one on his site. I bought them through www.dealextreme.com. I've also tried the "other" one and it worked fine, too.

Yea, I read the review and that's why I decided on this one. I have two serial ports on my PC already, so I think it would be a waste not to use them. I figured I would use 2 of these converters and place them into an enclosure and hardwire the RS485 outputs to a RJ45 keystones. IF ... and a big IF ... I ever somehow end up with more that 572 channels (shoot me now sequencing that), then I would just get a couple USB to RS485 converters to add on more channels.
Deal extreme does not seem to have that particular model anymore, or at least the serch for it turned up empty. I may have to navigate through every page for a total of 591 items to find it if they do indeed have it. It is good to hear that the other site (PC Adapter World) is at least legit. Thanks Dirk.

EDIT ... Found it on Deal Extreme on page 3 ... Man that would have sucked to search through all those pages. It is also CHEAPER ... WITH FREE SHIPPING!!

I ordered the very same one about 3 weeks ago from them. Great price, but I'm still waiting for it to arrive. I knew it would be a while coming from waaayyy over there, but I hate to wait lol.

Every single Chinese person goes home for new year, typically for a week to 10 days. To them it's like your birthday, the 4th of July and Christmas all wrapped up in one. If you ordered 3 weeks ago, you ordered right in the middle of that. I've been waiting 2 weeks myself for a blue tooth OBDII reader (not from DX).
You guys knew I had links to all 3 of those adapters in my review, right?

Guess we all do now! LOL!! I went there and read through the review ... nicely done. I decided on the STM-485I, the industrial one, but I guess I didn't remember or realize you had the links there when I read the review. Thanks again Mike.

Yep, that's why I made the purchase. Funny thing is, I ordered my FM02 the same time, and I've had that for almost 2 weeks now. Oh well, it'll get here when it gets here.
