I am having issues with my setup all of asudden, but that is covered in another thread. While trying to trouble shoot my existing problem, I decided to try the "keep port open" option and see if that would fix anything. When I select that option and try to run the sequence, I get an error saying COM 1 access denied. And in order to fix it I have to uncheck that option and then restart Vixen.
What is up with that?

Its a bug that KC has acknowledged in the Vixen Beta 4 forum. You will start to see that error after using the tester within vixen. You can leave the plug in configured with the keep port open option, but reboot to get away to quite. After rebooting do not use the tester unless you plan to reboot again.

Thanks for the reply, but I don't even get a chance to use the test channels dialog. All I do is select that option, then run the sequence and it gives me the error. It must be related. Oh well, I'm not even sure I need that option.

Do you have cross fades checked.
I thought if cross fades are checked you can NOT keep port open.

Cross fades is not checked. I figured out what my other problem was last night, now that that is fixed, I will try the keep port open option again and see if the results are different.

I am also having the same problem.
I have sent KC my sequence files for him to look at when he gets a chance.
I think XMUS might have hit on this problem also and his solution is to not start another program using the schedules if there is a chance it could start while a program is still finishing up.
Say your program length is 10 minutes and it is scheduled to run from 6-9pm. Then you could not start another program until 9:11pm to be safe. That is they way I take it, and it does seem logical, but not the way I would like for it to happen, because there is then 10 minutes of dead air, can not have a closing segment telling people nicely to go home. I hope this is not the case and there is a workaround.
