On Thanksgiving night, when I fired up the show for the first time, I had a problem with the fades and ramps being choppy and laggy. Well the problem fixed it's self after about an hour and all has been well for 2 weeks now. So tonight I get home around 7, and everything is running like crap again, exactly the same as it was opening night. I changed NOTHING since then. All I did was restart teh computer last night, I figured it was due for a restart.

So my question is, does anyone have any idea what can be causing this? It is definatly the OS, or another peice of software causing the problem, but I can not figure out what. I don't have much of anything installed on trhis computer, and nothing else is running except Vixen. There are a few procceses running in the task manager, but nothing new for the last 2 weeks.

Any ideas would be great. I am about to steal my daugters somputer and swap it in place of the laptop taht is currently running things.

Well I found the problem and all is well again with my display.

I was getting really mad, I had people lining up to watch the show. And when it is not working right, I would rather it not run at all. So I pulled my daughters computer and moved it to the garge. I got it all setup and then hooked the Renards up to the serial port. I then copied my entire Vixen directory from the laptop that was having the problem and transfered it to the new computer. I got it all booted up and hit restart timers, and the exact same problem is now on the new computer. This new computer is way more powerfull then the laptop. So I figured there is no way I could have 2 computers with issues. So for the hell of it I downloaded a clean install of Vixen 2.0.4.0 and installed it on the new computer. I copied over all of my important data, sequences, audio, timers, profiles and stuff. I booted up the clean install of Vixen and hit restart timers. Guess what, IT ALL WORKS GREAT. Back to normal. So some how my install of Vixen that has been running great for 2 weeks, developed an attitude.

So if anyone else starts having a similar problem, before you rip your hair out,and make your children hate you, try installing a new clean version of Vixen.
