Ok pete is not on and im using directions he gave me to wire my outlets for use with my 8 channel board.

This is where i am at.

[pete] 9:33 pm: you want to wrap together all the black wires and screw a wire nut on them
[Walden] 9:33 pm: ok
[pete] 9:33 pm: then push that into the box
[Walden] 9:33 pm: ok
[pete] 9:34 pm: I should had told you that you will be doing the rest with the wires in the box
[Walden] 9:35 pm: ok
[pete] 9:36 pm: you want to take the green wire from the cord with the plug the 9 inch pc of green and twist one end together, and secure it under the green
screw of one of the outlets.
[pete] 9:37 pm: then do the same to the other end of the 9 inch pc and the other outlet
[pete] 9:38 pm: repeat those last two steps with the white wire, white 9 inch pc and the silver screw

The red is the part that i don't get.

Here is a picture of where I'm at.

From the instructions, it sounds like you take the green wire from the extension cord (with the plug), twist the bare wire together with one end of the 9" piece of green wire, and secure both under the green grounding screw on one of the socket units. Then take the other end of the 9" piece of green wire and screw that under the green grounding screw on the other socket.

(Sorry if the pic is large, it was a quick drawing)

Walden, what he's trying to tell you can be explained best with a pic. Now although the setup is a bit different, you can pick out the relevant parts, they're still the same....

One note though, it seems he uses black for neutral instead of white like me, so in my picture, the white wires all go together, the black (red) go to the ssrs, and the green grounds are just like the white neutrals.
Let me know if you need anything else.

The ground (green) wire should be connected to the ground lug of every outlet. (One common ground bus across all outlets.)

Each switched (white) wire goes to an individually switched outlet. Note that most outlets have a copper bus that connects the top and bottom outlet. To individually switch each outlet, you'll have to break off that connection with small needle nose pliers.

if u live in usa and canada it is not the (white) wire that is toggle by the ssr but the (black), the white loop from one to the other and the ground too if u have a metalic box there a screw in it to loop the ground on it too!!!

RIGHT! So i'm not insane. I was wondering what was up with everyone says with white going to the channels. I didn't know other countries were different. So yes, if you're in the USA, use black for each channel.
