hey guys. i've been lurking around for months now soaking up the information. this is a great community that has assembled here and i've learned a ton. thanks to everyone for the excellent resource. i went from wishful to working in a few months.

here's my first try. i'm using a 595 board that i etched and drilled myself. it was a fun learning experience, but i doubt i'll hand make another board. drilling ~ 1300 holes is not my idea of fun.

41 channels over 11 SSR's
~11000 lights
50ms resolution

Very good. Are the main house lights not on a chanel?

no channel for the main lights. they just stay on all the time. half of me would like to add them in next year, and half of me doesn't want to run the extension cords ;)

I think its very well done. After our first 5 song sequences... we (my entire family) feels we're a bit too blinky, and a tad too much flashy. ;)

I think yours looks great. (I have that same polar bear btw)

TOO blinky and TOO flashy? Nah, impossible! ;)

I have to agree...Very nicely done. Some of these displays make my eyes bleed but your display was very tasteful. (By "these displays" I do not mean ones in this site.)

I am considering doing all my normal lights in white and then the blinky flashy ones in other colors.

Good work!

welp, i think i'm done making changes for this year. i've sequenced another song, got my hands on a mini-dv cam and done some work in imovie.

here's the final video that i came up with.
