All of the SSR designs I have seen have the resistor between the Opto and the Triac. Would you be able to hook up the resistor between the hot and pin 6 of the MOC3023 then have p4 going right to G on the triac(p3)?

on your layout u need another resistor on the control side to preserve the opto led

yes, it's the basic design before the opto. the resistor going into the rj45 then to the controller

on my board i normaly put 2 ssr to control 1 duplex plug
and i put red led on the control side to see if the signal come

just my advice,
the Main Power track is too small, 60mils at 2 oz copper is good for 2 amps, the COOP designs have the main track at 140 mils so it can handle 4 amps, and any one TRIAC can take 2 amps.
if you dont spec 2 oz, the boards will be made in 1 oz copper. that will drag you back to 1 amp total (0.25 amp per channel). I think a US string is 0.3 amps, so you will start to heat up the PCB.
While you could beef up the tracks between the TRIACs (Pin #2), you would still have a hot spot on the Pad at #2 as you throttle the track from 140 back to 60 mils to pass thru the TRIAC .
I am sure it will work, as is, but there were reasons for the way Sean and I designed our boards as we did.

Right after I place the order. I do not plan on more than one amp of power per channel, and they have 2oz copper on the boards. I am going to run tests with amps and heat when I get them, if i need it, i can put jumper wires between the triacs

Eddie,
"i can put jumper wires between the triacs" - or just float a bead of solder down the entire trace.

Bear in mind that the electrical conductivity of sn-pb solder is typically 1/10 that of copper.

The boards have a soldermask, so i wouldent be able to put on a solder trace, correct?
