Price is not a concern. Which software do you prefer? I'm a simple person that likes simple programs. I have no computer program skills or background. This is my first year and need some direction. I'll be using LE's and if I go with LOR software I will just buy the converter thingy. I'm not sure that I will be able to make my own light shows from scratch, if thats the case, LOR seems to have more sequences that I can download and customize for my display than Vixen, Is this correct? What do you guys Like and why? and as far as simplicety which is easier? I played with LOR a little bit , and so far can not figure out how to open Vixen once i downloaded it.

I'll complicate it by throwing Lightshow Pro into the Mix. Pricing wise it's somewhere between free and LOR. I believe its around $80. You can try it for Free.
I'm afraid none of them are so much easier than the others. That all use essentially the same concept of Grid-style sequencing. Each of them have different tools that make certain things easier, but I really find them to be very similar.
If you are looking for commercial support, then I would suggest going with a paid program like LOR or LSP.
If you are going to get into this hobby, at some point you are going to have to learn to sequence. So I wouldn't simply look at which one has the most sequences available for download. Not to mention, there is a simple converter to convert from LOR2 to Vixen.
I used mostly copied sequences my first year due to time. This year I modified them significantly and added 3 of my own. Although its harder and very time-consuming, its much more rewarding.

Can I run LOR controllers with Vixen software?? I don't believe you can run Renard with LOR software at this point.

I have several sequences done in lor. Nice to know there is a converter in vixen to use these. I have not gotten vixen set up yet but have the tutorial for it and will work on it this week end.
