Is it ok to just shut off the 110 and leave vixen running the show with the Olsen and SSR's still connected, or should I go through the effort of creating a schedule in vixen?

shutting off the 110v power would not harm anything.

I have an intermatic timer that turns my power circuit on 30 min before and 30 min after
the only harm i can see being done is that your still firing the opto's. I dont know what the cycle rate on them are, but i am sure its a huge number. So this still is not a big issue.
But just for kicks, why dont you run a background sequence, or setup a timer in vixen to only run the show during the times you want?
The way i am setup is as follows:
12 channel setup this year(will be 64 595 next)
i leave vixen run all day, as i broadcast christmas music 24/7
vixen is programed to start at 5, and turn off at 10
and then keep all lights off until the show starts again the next day

I do this partially because I can' t get the vixen sceduler to work. I have it set to turn on at 5 and off at 11 but it comes on at 5am (i think, i'm not awake then) and I don't want the lights running then. By the way I'm using beta 4.

I am an electrician and turning off your 110v is the best thing u can do to prevent fire damage or else you never know when a defect can happen
as for the control u should turn off vixen use task schedulor in microsoft

Hey RGJones. Where at in Richmond VA are you? I live in Mechanicsville. Do you think maybe I would come see your display and you can see mine. Then we can bounce ideas off each other. I really want to make sure I am getting things right. PM or E-mail me.
