The FM25B is working OK and has been since 2006. I read in the manual about antenna ideas and think to myself, hey self, I'll build one of those fancy dipole rigs.

I do the math and figure 2.385' per side (4.77' total) - good to go.

The question is:

Do I remove the stock whip antenna from the PCB (with the nut underneath - goofy location but I guess necessary) or can I just plug the co-ax into the external jack in back with the stock antenna installed?

The manual is rather sparse on info concerning this specific topic.

Thanks,

Greg

Hi:
I don't have an FM25b, but there should be no problem with connecting your new antenna to the external jack.

If you want to make a good, easy dipole see the thread "FM02 Transmitter Setup".

If you are going to utilize an external antenna then you need to remove the "internal" stock whip antenna.
