Guys,
I have been unwell for a while now.
On Saturday I was light headed and very unsure on my feet, not really able to walk up and down stairs. Sunday was the same.
I am unable to drive my car as I am easy disorintated.
So today I went to my doctor and he can't find anything definite, but has requested I geta brain CT Scan as a precaution. I am booked in for first thing in hte morning.
I pray it will be clear, and I know Louise hopes and prays it is also clear. the best outcome would be a clear CT Scan and some how knock the virus I have had.

Firstly, your are overwhelming. Yes I believe is Prayer, and thanks for all the kind wishes.
The good news is the CT reveals no sign of a stroke. So we can cross that off the list. My Doc suspects it is yet another virus and therefore has booked my in for another blood test. BTW I am now in my 7th week of fight this illness.
Today I am not dissy or light headed. But can't walk without swaying. My arms and legs feel like I have run 10k and have no strength left. Holding a glass of water takes effort and coordinating my arm to place it back on the table without smash the glass is darn hard work.
Thanks again.

My dad just went through a similar problem. He got so bad, he couldn't take a step without falling. He's 80, just had a pacemaker put in, and is fighting lung cancer. He's on that really strong blood thinner and every time he fell, he left huge bruises all over his body.
So I know a little about what you're going through. Here's hopes and prayers that all turns out to be just an inner ear infection or something simple. Hopes that all is well by the miracle day called Christmas or sooner and that someone is looking out for you.

Quick Update. Things are definitely on the up. I still get exhausted easily, and will loose coordination but for the best part things are OK. Doc still says it is a virus. Blood tests have turned out positive.
I have taken early holidays to get ready for Christmas.
A little gem, last week I got quite excited when I could sign my name and it look familiar.
Thanks for the prayers.

Thanks for the update, Matt! What a sigh of relief that the doctors can identify the culprit and effect a regimen to knock it out! Merry Christmas indeed!

A virus huh? I've been having the exact same symtoms for the past couple of months. Perhaps not as bad in the weakness and coordination (but still affected), but as bad with the dizzy part.
I think I finally beat it, since for the past week I've been steady on my feet.
I knew I was feeling better when I got up for my 'old man' duties at 3AM one night and I didn't have to hold on to the wall to make it to the bathroom.

You might want to be checked for Vertigo - my neighbor went through a bout of it not long ago.

Also lookup Ménière's disease which is often misdiagnosed as Vertigo. It was a horrible experience for my wife. Her entire world spun around for 6 months while doctors tried to figure it out.
