I would like to know if someone could write an add-in to do a sound-to-light for Vixen? (8 channels)

It would be really nice and it would save me alot of time making something to do this.

Can you provide some more detail information on what you are looking for?

You alreadyhave your choice of two add ins.

The wave form can have one or many channels respond to volume.

Or the Frequency spectrum can turn your display into a gigantic equalizer display.

These are both set up in advance.
Vixen has nothing to do a real time interpretation of music.

Or use a midi file and map the notes to a channel. Then Vixen could synch the show for you based on the note-channel mapping.

Something like one of those old color organs...If it is possible.

No... not real time. Planned and revewed before hand.

Frequency spectrum sounds like it would be a prettey good match to what I want to do. Can anyone send me the file or a link to the file?

Man, I wish I had found the frequency spectrum add-in about 2 months ago!!! It doesn't provide a complete finished song to me, but it's certainly a good place to start!!!

So just how does it work. I see it transcribing but I don't see any results. What exactly does it do?

Did you map the channels to the frequencies.
If you hover over the bar on the bottom your channels will identify them selves.

Drag the channels to the frequencies. Set the levels for the frequencies and when the level is hit vixen will trigger an on for that channel.

When you click OK vixen will parse the music and map your channels to the open sequence.

So does it show up on the grid or do you just play it and it shows up on the preview.

Once it is done the selected channels will show up on the grid.

Is the music going above the blue slider set mid way in each cell.
If not move the slider or increase the scale until it does, only when it goes above that blue bar will it register an on.

You can just hit the play and start adjusting until you get the response you want.

Only when you say ok will it actually translate it to the sequencing grid.

Its not in 1.1.11 i think. You are going to have to update to 2.0

Where do I get 2.0? The Vixen website only has 1.1.11
