I just wanted to ask, I need to tie in 4 100ct minis toghter. I know we always try for 3 but is 4 that bad.

Probably not a problem. I have heat sinks and for years have run lots of channels with 6 or 7 strings with no issues.

Check the label, sometimes is it ok to do 5. I have 4 on a set that the max is 3, no problems yet, but it's only one location. The rest, I keep it under 3.

If the lights set are labelled as being able to run 3 sets in series I personally never go over that. That rating is meant to protect against the rating of the wire. The new sets from Lowe's I know are rated for 6 strands.

A way around that is to plug the 4th strand in parallel with the other strands by using the female plug on one of the other strands. You can either plug it in directly or run an extension cord to it.
