problems connecting

I have been up for the past 3hrs trying to figure out how to connect the rs232 to rs485 converter to a cat5 cable for the ren3.3 . I have looked at the wiki but it is confusing to me. It says to connect DB pin5 to rs485 pin 1,2 and 5. So I connected them to my D+/A. And connected the white/blue wire to my gnd terminal and I get nothing. What am I doing wrong?

Can some one please explain in layman's terms : connect ---to D+/a
connect--- to D-/B
connect--- to Gnd
connect--- to +5v~12v
I think if I keep going something is going to burn up.

I figured it out. I did a google search and found a old thread that got me up and going.:D
