I put a volt meter across J2 on the Ren-t and voltage fluctuates between .200-4 volts while sequence is running. It goes to 4v when sequence is stopped.
On the Renard64 board I have 5v on pine 8 of U7 (only 1 pic installed)
I checked the leds grounded pin 8 on empty socket and led lights
The led on the Ren T dosn't seem to turn on.
checked the cat 5 cable seems good
When I first check voltage on pin 8 of U7 the voltage fluctuates but led dosn't light the it goes to 5 v constantly. Could be a miss read??
checked and replaced cat5
now what??
bad pics?? or something I overlooked?? bauds rate or ????

Baud rate should be 57600

No LED on the Ren T means it is not functioning. How are you configured? Case 1? Are you sure the LED is in properly?

Have you tried a PIC with the diagnostic code to verify it is working.

I changed the baud rate to 57600 and still no worky.
any way to check on the renard that the rent t is working? testing voltages etc.

No LED on the Ren-T might also mean that you have it in backwards.

Also, which socket did you install the PIC in? If there is only one PIC installed (for testing purposed), it should be in U10.

I conversed w/ Wayne about 4pm and he mentioned the U10 socket. I had only one pic in U7.
Installed another into U10 and now we get dimming
The led is really dim. crossed it with a bigger led nd we get light so the Ren-T is functioning
Now to install all the other pics, clean up my twisted wires(one 12v and one 5v. contemplating a db-9 plug in a box.

Also need to extend my audio cable for the outside speakers (cable got shorter over the year??)
Tomorrow I lay out all the cat5 cables and get the show on the road. Already had town folk asking about display.
have at last count 12,000 mins. Small house.
