I just want to be sure I do not ruin anything, I have old c-9 strand that I took all the caps off. Now that leaves 2 little holes. I sealed the holes with silicon so the should be ok but what if water were to get in there. What would be my end result the board would fry trip my surge protectors. Just curious.

Thanks
John

I think this converstion stated here (http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=12181), then moved to here (http://doityourselfchristmas.com/forums/showthread.php?t=13620), now this thread. I would keep this all in one thread since the original thread brought up the safety concerns you are asking about already...

Electricity can kill you. It only takes 50 volts.

Actually it's a lot less than that, but the current is what's really important...
