Hi. I am looking for plans to build my own parallel port relay, if anyone has some plans or have a list and diangram on building one would sure be helpful thankyou

I used a system my first year and Olsen type controller. If it is not for turning on lights then Olsen might not work.

Sounds like you are looking for something you can build at home. The only one I'm aware of here is the Olsen 595.

There's a file posted in the files section. This is an older design, but it was many started with. A Parallel Port-based on/off controller.

Are you looking for a true Mechanical Relay setup? Those are certainly around. The above board is setup to use standard 4 Channel SSRs. If you are looking for a Relay style controller, I would simply google it. You will find a ton. I also remember there being some parallel port designs on ComputerChristmas.com.

Try Velleman -- they make a lot of easy-to-assemble relays that are also very expensive. For example, if you're looking for a really small, 4-channel unit that could be controlled with a parallel port, here you go. It's probably about $25 or so. This unit would be good for lights, but not good for controlling anything with a motor. But you can look around the Velleman site and find a lot of cool stuff.
